Ich war sehr gespannt auf dieses Buch, da es schon ziemlich schwer ist, eine Religion kurz, prägnant und vor allen Dingen verständlich zwischen zwei Buchdeckel zu packen. Und das hat das Büchlein meiner Meinung nach ganz gut geschafft. Das Buch ist in 3 Kapitel unterteilt und auch in diesen recht übersichtlich gestaltet. Wichtige Informationen befinden sich nochmals gebündelt in sogenannten Merk-Kästchen.Insgesamt also ein nicht allzu ausführlicher aber für den ersten Ein-/Überblick in die Religion, die leider allzu oft mit Gewalt, Unterdrückung und Hass gegenüber Andersgläubigen/-denkenden assoziiert wird. Womit ich zum ersten meiner beiden Kritikpunkte komme. Wie bereits Anfangs angemerkt, ist das Buch in 3 Teile gegliedert. Einer davon davon beschäftigt sich alleine mit Terroranschlägen, die mit dem Islam in Zusammenhang gebracht werden (New York, Madrid, London, etc.). Sicher sollte dies nicht unerwähnt bleiben, leider gehört dies zum aktuellen Weltgeschehen; jedoch der Thematik rund 60 Seiten zu widmen, was auf das ganze Buch gerechnet ca. 1/3 ausmacht, fand ich dann doch etwas zuviel des Guten.Weniger schlimm, aber dennoch bemerkenswert fand ich die Illustration. Die Arabesken und Zeichnungen fand ich super gemacht und absolut zum Buch passend. Schöner hätte ich es allerdings gefunden, wenn die Bilder anstatt farbig anstatt in schwarz-weiß gehalten worden wären. Dadurch wäre das ganze Buch etwas frischer und freundlicher rübergekommen, was - hinsichtlich des Terror-Aspekts - nicht ganz verkehrt gewesen wäre.Ein gut gemachtes Büchlein, das auch Jugendlichen die Möglichkeit bietet, kurz gehaltene und gut gebündelte Informationen über den Islam zu bekommen.
